Working within the Joint Systems Capability, you will be part of the team that enhance and sustain operational software on the Wakulda Air Battle Management System. Located in Brisbane you will be willing to travel into our CBD office frequently and have the ability to travel to other sites in Australia. The candidate will be a self-starter with the ability to take ownership of projects including software implementations and product reviews. They will have strong attention to detail and the ability to present ideas to large forums. Responsibilities Develop software components that contribute to state-of-the-art air battle management mission systems. Develop, test and maintain scalable and robust software applications using Python. Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices and industry standards. You'll be supporting an environment that has security considerations and is both Windows and Linux based, so virtualisation and networking knowledge is a big bonus. Experience/Qualifications 3 years of professional experience in software development, with a strong focus on Python Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience Familiarity with database systems (eg., PostgreSQL, MySQL) Knowledge of version control systems (eg.,Git, Jenkins) Understanding of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum) Experience with Visio, Cameo and/or similar software Eligibility Applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet defence security requirements.
