Key responsibilities include: Provide litigation management and dispute resolution services to SVHA's hospitals and aged care facilities Provide general and regulatory advice on health and aged care services matters Assist with: corporate governance and legislative compliance managing complex consumer complaints and disputes developing legal precedents, policy, processes and workflows strategic corporate initiatives related to legal, risk, governance and privacy Brief and instruct external legal advisers including efficient matter management and maintaining relationships Diversity and Inclusion at St Vincent's: St Vincent's is committed to employing a workforce that reflects the community we care for. About you: We are seeking a skilled and energetic Position Title who possess a passion for person centred care. Selection Criteria: Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries and St Vincent's Health Australia At least 4 years' experience as a lawyer; preferably in the areas of insurance/health litigation with demonstrated experience managing complex and sensitive issues, a sound understanding of privacy, and complex medico-legal issues especially those related to medical litigation. Tertiary qualifications in law including current NSW legal practicing certificate. Substantial knowledge of the challenges which arise within a complex health care environment and a sound understanding of the NSW public health system and its principal functions and inter-relationships. Strong relationship building capabilities and influencing skills with the ability to communicate, coach, motivate, consult, and negotiate with senior managers and diverse stakeholder groups including consumers/patients. High level knowledge of quality systems, clinical governance and planning Experience gained in a corporate healthcare or aged care environment and/or advising healthcare, aged care and home care clients.
