The Glennie School is an Anglican school for girls in Toowoomba, providing an exceptional education for Kindergarten to Year 12 students with boarding from Year 5. About the Role The School is currently seeking Teacher Aides to provide classroom and learning support assistance for students in our Senior Years 7-12. We are seeking reliable individuals, with prior Teacher Aide experience to: support the teacher/s in facilitating lessons and activities, including preparation; work with students individually or in small groups on activities planned under the supervision of a teacher; assist students to comply with teacher instruction; prepare equipment and materials specific to the student and classroom needs in accordance with teacher’s direction; observe students and draw the attention of the teacher to the students when necessary; provide assistance during class activities, as required, to ensure maximum participation in programs; and develop an effective, positive relationship with all students in the class. implement modifications to student work as set/directed by a teacher; and implement support programs (literacy and numeracy) under the direction of the teacher. We currently have two roles available on a part time, term time basis. About You Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or currently studying, i.e. Cert III in Educational Support. Have a paid Working with Children blue card prior to commencement. Experience in delivering education content with a commitment to helping to improve student’s learning outcomes. Provide support in a professional, positive and approachable manner. Demonstrate excellence in communication, organisation, and time management skills. Ability to build relationships with a range of students from diverse cultures and backgrounds. An ability and reliability to work both independently and as part of a team. Familiarity with legal obligations relating to child safety including mandatory reporting requirements. Ability and desire to learn and develop professionally, personally, and spiritually.
