Senior Legal Counsel Job Summary Division Name: Corporate Position No: 35414 Closing Date: 2024-07-17 5:00 PM Location: East Perth Job Type: Permanent - Full Time Salary: Level 8, SOA, $152,297 - $175,661 pa plus 11.5% superannuation About the Job About the role The Public Transport Authority (PTA) is seeking an accomplished and highly autonomous Senior Legal Counsel to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will provide expert legal advice on a broad spectrum of matters, including contract law, property transactions, construction law, and other areas relevant to the PTA's activities. You will be responsible for interpreting and applying legislation, drafting, and negotiating legal documents for both routine and complex transactions, and fostering effective stakeholder relationships. As a Senior Legal Counsel, you will work closely with the General Counsel to promote legal compliance and awareness within the PTA, assist with public liability claims, and liaise with the State Solicitor's Office and other agencies. Your proactive approach, initiative, and ability to build collaborative alliances will be key in supporting the legal framework that underpins our operations and ensures the continued success of the PTA. About You To excel in this role, you should possess: Admission to practice law in Western Australia or be eligible for admission. Extensive legal practice experience, with a strong focus on practical application in private practice, in-house corporate, or government settings. Highly developed communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and meet deadlines under pressure. Exceptional conceptual and analytical abilities.
