The role: Assist staff making and changing beds; toileting, showering or bathing for non-ambulatory, heavy or physically compromised patients. Assist nursing staff in the High Dependency Unit (HDU) as required. Participate in patient care and monitoring under the direct supervision of nursing staff. Contribute to the accurate transmission of patient information by participation in daily handover meetings. Maintain medical gas supplies. Orient newly employed staff in local procedures, techniques and policies and assist with their familiarisation to Northside Mental Health Clinic. Responsible for the evacuation of patients in the case of fire, gas leak or bomb threat as directed by the Unit’s Warden/s.
