Our client, an industrial and electronics distributor, is seeking an experienced Application Engineer - Customer Care to join their team in the western suburbs of Sydney. About the Role: You will be responsible for supporting customers with the selection, application, implementation, and usage of products, as well as providing training and ensuring product quality. This role is crucial in the rapid expansion of the technology proposition across products and services. Your industry experience will allow you to provide valuable guidance and insights, influencing customer product selection. Key Responsibilities: Product Support: Provide application knowledge and support on key strategic products. Handle enquiries professionally via phone, email, and in-person interactions. Support the market GM/Sales Manager on technical and industry-specific topics. Build knowledge bases on prioritised products, FAQs, product comparison charts, and alternative products. Conduct product/category training for the sales team and customers. Sales & Marketing Support: Provide industry sector insights regarding product requirements, challenges, and opportunities. Assist sales and marketing teams with technical value propositions and solutions. Identify project or spec-in opportunities with customers/end users. Work with customers and the RS internal sales team to provide professional technical advice. Support industry trade shows and technical demos. Occasionally support customer meetings throughout the sales process, from opportunity identification to post-sales and maintenance. About You: Relevant qualification in Electronics, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and knowledge of SAP would be a bonus. Proven experience in similar role in electronics, industrial, or distribution businesses, with a proven track record. Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate confidently and effectively at all business levels. Independent, self-motivated, and able to work with minimal supervision. Strategic planning and execution skills to meet and exceed business targets. Experience working collaboratively with internal and external teams.
