About the role: We are seeking a Senior Network Engineer with expertise in proxy servers, load balancing, and Checkpoint Firewall technology. You will be integral in the design, implementation, and maintenance of their network infrastructure, ensuring its availability, performance, and security. Key Responsibilities: Configure, maintain and monitor proxy servers and performance resolving issues that arise. Design and implement solutions for distributing network traffic using load balancers. Monitor the performance, scalability, and failover capabilities of load balancers, and work with application teams to optimise load balancing settings. Manage Checkpoint Firewall devices, including configuring rules, updates, and threat prevention. Analyse firewall logs, implement security policies and conduct regular security audits to ensure compliance with industry standards. Continuously evaluate network performance and provide recommendations. Plan for capacity and scale network resources to support business growth. Work with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and implement appropriate network solutions. Maintain detailed network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and procedures. Participate in incident response activities and resolve network-related security incidents. Provide on-call support for critical network issues and participate in a 24/7 support rotation. Experience Required: 7 plus years experience as a network engineer within the financial services domain would be desired but not required Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience) Proven experience on proxy servers, load balancing, and Checkpoint Firewall technology Experience with SD-WAN, ZScaler, ZTNA, Netskope, IaC, Azure and Cisco Viptela. Strong knowledge of network protocols, routing, and switching Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, Checkpoint CCSA, or equivalent are a plus Proficiency in scripting and automation for network management (e.g., Python, PowerShell).
