The role As the Process Engineer, you are responsible for the management of one of the largest lime kiln operations in the world to ensure optimised production, minimise costs on energy consumption and drive quality targets. The engineer is responsible for providing day to day support for the lime production operations team and work with the refractory management on the lime kilns. Responsibilities Ensure the lime kiln environmental parameters are effectively managed Ensure lime is produced at the highest possible quality and efficiency Drive the identification of process improvement initiatives Provide direction and planning for the execution of and review of down day maintenance Ensure projects for energy reduction initiatives are investigated with the Technical team Provide advice and guidance about day to day process changes required to optimise plant performance Implement initiatives and control the kiln processes to optimise campaign strategies Lead the Root Cause Analysis of stoppages and process excursions Review all proposed plant modifications and make recommendations regarding their approval Determine and implement opportunities for improvement in safety, productivity, efficiency, elimination of waste and cost Work with the Sales & Marketing team to investigate product development opportunities What you will need to succeed Degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent Metallurgical Processing degree Experience in heavy industry processing Experience in cement or lime manufacturing is desirable An enquiring mind and an enthusiasm to learn and lead The ability and desire to work as part of a team 5 years experience is desirable but not essential Our business Cockburn Cement is the leading Western Australian manufacturer of cement, lime, packaged cement and drymix products.
