About the Role The Category Manager (Legal and People Services) is responsible for developing effective and strategic suppliers across their category in line with the business plan and drive commercial value for the business over both short- and medium-term horizons while also managing risks associated with their category. Role Type: 12 Month Fixed Contract/Secondment, Full-time Role Location: 833 Collins Street, Docklands VIC 3008 (Hybrid working mode) What will your day look like? As a Category Manager you will: Be responsible for the performance of category spend portfolio, including delivering and building pipeline, strategy development, managing spend hygiene eg off contract spend, tail spend reduction, S2P performance Develop comprehensive category plans that integrate business and corporate strategy, supported by appropriate digital enablers and category intelligence Define buying channels that are globally documented and collaborate with the Work Design Team to ensure there is a stringent process in place to drive contract compliance and budget compliance Drive down total cost of targeted goods and services with solutions that meet customer' and business need through proactive development and execution of appropriate strategies Accountable for understanding contribution to Procurement business plan and have agreed plans to meet deliverables and Procurement KRA's and targets Identify and manage category risks (including but not limited to security of supply, regulatory) Stay abreast of regulatory, industry and supplier trends regarding their portfolio and build relationships externally and internally to understand leading practice, innovations, market disruptions, providing direction and strategy for teams Contribute to achieving Procurement KRA's and performance targets Work collaboratively across Procurement (AUS, NZ & Pacific, and APEA) and OCM stakeholders to deliver the business plan Build trusted relationships with key Business and Functional stakeholders (e.g Legal and Talent & Culture), and broker relationships for other teams who have like stakeholders across the business Help share bright spots and elevate Procurement brand with these Divisions/BU's/Country Leaders and across Procurement and Finance What will you bring? To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following: Experience in a Category Management leadership role, managing a highly diverse groups of categories and associated contracts especially in Technology, Property, Professional Services and Travel Establish strong supplier relationships, internal and external client executives communication with ability to reach consensus across category strategies, targets and savings commitment Strategic thinker with the ability to identify and exploit innovative concepts leading at a global level through complex projects; Aligning Category and Sourcing/Contracting Strategy to Business Strategies Excellent negotiating skills, price analysis and promote your strategy to stakeholders at differing levels Problem Solving within highly complex and ambiguous situations; and understands risks and appropriate control options Strong commercial acumen with ability to analyze cost vs risk trade-offs, shape deal economics; Understanding of broader business context and translating into key priorities for Procurement to support; Understanding of supply market dynamics, Third Party Risk and Regulatory requirements, external leading practice, market trends relevant to spend areas Understanding of end to end procurement lifecycle management across Strategy, Source to Contract, Supplier Relationship Management through to Req. to Pay You're not expected to have 100% of these skills.
