About the role In this role, you will provide legal advice for the Energy Solutions business to assist the business to meet its commercial objectives and effectively manage legal risk associated with Energy Solutions activities. This includes preparing, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts for the operations of Energy Solutions covering sale, purchase and other contracts related to energy products, transactions concerning the Energy Solutions business, as well as providing commercial energy and consumer regulatory advice on all aspects of Energy Solution’s business operations. This role will assist in the drafting of all contract paperwork and support the Energy Solutions business to ensure compliance with terms and conditions of each agreement. This role is also responsible for developing training frameworks that assist in the Energy Solutions team remaining educated and informed of key legislation and regulating affecting the business for e.g. CCA and NERL/NERR. Key responsibilities: Provide accurate and timely legal advice to the Ampol business Maintain positive relationships and proactively engage with the business The effective management of complaints and leading dispute resolution Support Energy Solutions business transactions, and other general commercial arrangements such as drafting, reviewing and negotiating a variety of energy and commercial agreements Manage exposure to all relevant energy and corporate related Australian laws and regulations. About you: You will bring a strong understanding of commercial law within the role of an in-house legal function. You be a team player and be passionate about providing legal support to the business. As a legal professional you will have extensive attention to detail, time management and communication skills. Key skills and experience: Tertiary qualification in law with current legal practising certificate. 4 years post qualified experience (PQE) in practice, ideally in law firm or as a corporate lawyer for a medium-sized or large business. Exposure to the Australian Energy market and/or demonstrated experience in a commercial business Clear understanding of contractual terms and conditions as well as compliance requirements for key contracts Experience dealing with problems and identifying creative and commercial solutions; Previous experience dealing with competing issues and priorities Working and advising in situations of, at times, limited information and/or ambiguity Our benefits Our total remuneration is competitive.
