About the role To design and optimise all built landforms including waste dumps, tailing storage facilities and dams, considering Long-Term integrity, environmental compliance, and minimum life of asset cost (construction to rehabilitation). Key result areas in this role include: • Liaise with Mine Planning Engineers to develop an optimal waste dump construction sequence that minimises Life of Mine tkm and contouring cost for final landform. • Liaise with Group Metallurgist to develop and optimal tailings disposal method and TSF construction sequence. • Conduct required studies mineralogical studies and environmental studies to support landform design and optimisation. • Liaise with the Site Geology Manager to scope mineralogical investigations and include mineralogical parameters of interest in geological block models. • Monitor current and emerging trends in waste dump and tailings management and regulations. • Prepare reporting as requested by Group Manager Long-Term Planning North American Assets. • Provide miscellaneous technical support as assigned by Group Manager Long-Term Planning North American Assets About you To succeed in this position, you will have proven experience in mining, preferably within the gold sector. It is also important that you have or can demonstrate: • Capability in influencing and developing Engineering practices and supporting the professional and technical growth of engineering teams. • Effectively communicate complex process ideas at all levels with a natural ability to build relationships across functions and operations. • Proven experience at a comparable level with organisational accountability, delivering operational efficiency, driving accurate and reliable interpretations/decisions, and implementing best practice in both technical and operational areas. • Relevant tertiary qualifications in a related Engineering field, or equivalent. Post graduate qualifications and membership with the Australian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy, or similar professional affiliation, would be well regarded. • A working knowledge of environmental and site safety best practice. • As relevant the ability to perform the role of Competent Person for the styles of mineralisation and mining methods relevant to Evolution, and in accordance with JORC, is desirable. • Commitment to living and supporting the Evolution values of Safety, Excellence, Accountability, Respect driving positive and engaging cultural change through direct engagement with our people.
