Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior / Principal Engineer with expertise in Electrical and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) to join their team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in designing, developing, and implementing advanced BESS solutions for various applications. Key Responsibilities: Lead the design and development of electrical and BESS projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices. Conduct detailed electrical system design, including single-line diagrams, control schematics, and protection schemes. Develop and implement project plans, schedules, and budgets, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of solutions. Perform technical analysis, simulations, and modelling to optimise BESS performance and integration with the grid. Oversee the installation, commissioning, and testing of BESS projects, ensuring quality and safety standards are met. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, software, and project management, to ensure cohesive project execution. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement. Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies to determine project viability and technical requirements. Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, test reports, and operation manuals. Engage with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities to address technical inquiries and ensure project alignment. Stay updated on the latest industry trends, technologies, and regulatory developments in the field of electrical and energy storage. Participate in industry conferences, workshops, and training sessions to enhance professional knowledge and network. Support business development efforts by providing technical expertise in proposal development and client presentations. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations throughout the project lifecycle. Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering processes, tools, and methodologies. Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. Minimum of 8 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). Professional Engineer (PE) certification or equivalent is preferred. Extensive experience in electrical system design, analysis, and optimisation. Proficiency in using electrical design software and simulation tools. Strong project management skills, with the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with clients and stakeholders. Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to electrical and energy storage systems. Willingness to travel as required for project site visits and client meetings.
