About the Role: Reporting to the Lead Engineer (Civil Engineering), this role will provide civil project engineering and management expertise to ensure world-class delivery of assigned projects. You will plan, control, and execute multi-discipline projects with a strong focus on civil engineering at the Central Queensland operation near Moranbah. Working as part of a collaborative team, you will engage with internal and external stakeholders and manage engineering and construction contractors to achieve optimal business outcomes. This role is based on-site at Central Queensland Mine with a flexible roster of 4/2, 4/4, or 4/3, offering flexible travel arrangements (FIFO/DIDO). Key Responsibilities: Identify, select, define, and safely execute projects within approved schedules and budgets. Lead the delivery of safe work practices in compliance with the Site Safety and Health Management System (SHMS). Maintain project documentation in compliance with Small Project Management Framework (SMPF) standards. Apply Project Management processes to support compliance with site requirements and GLDs. Manage costs to budget, forecast regularly, and rectify variances. Ensure compliance with engineering standards for assigned projects. Monitor progress and address variances to plan. Identify and manage resourcing changes for assigned projects. Conduct feasibility studies, cost-benefit analyses, impact assessments, and project business cases to obtain required approvals. Adhere to the Management of Change process for assigned projects. Drive continuous improvement through the BHP Operating System (BOS). About You: You will have5-10 years of project delivery experience from both client and contractor perspectives, with a strong understanding of project management, engineering principles, standards, and processes. A tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or a similar discipline is preferred. Experience in coal mining or heavy industry will be advantageous. Proficiency in designing, planning, and constructing roads, dams, levees, drainage systems, structures, industrial facilities, and rehabilitation projects is highly regarded.
