Position Information Chester Hill High School (CHHS) is a comprehensive, co–educational secondary school situated in south western Sydney and is part of the Auburn Schools Educational Network. The school encompasses an Intensive English Centre. Chester Hill High School has a current student enrolment of 1090 (929 mainstream, 161 IEC). The school is culturally diverse with 93% of students possessing a language background other than English. Chester Hill High School has 117 refugee or refugee–like students and a growing number of students with an Aboriginal background. The FOEI of the school is 165. All students are encouraged to achieve in an environment that provides academic challenge and artistic, cultural and sporting opportunities. Strong parental and community partnerships are a feature of the school. https://chesterhil-h.schools.nsw.gov.au/ Selection Criteria Approval to teach Technology Mandatory Years 7-8, approval and/or willingness to teach Textiles and Design/Textile Technology, Food Technology and Design and Technology. Demonstrated ability to work as a collaborative member of the TAS faculty and contribute to faculty programs and resources. The school is willing to support courses for approval in relevant VET subjects as a way to assist teachers willing to migrate to TAS. Capacity to integrate technology and implement innovative teaching practices to foster engagement and improve student learning outcomes. Demonstrated ability to create an inclusive learning environment that caters for engagement and differentiation of abilities, including gifted and talented students and those from non-English speaking backgrounds. Conditions The successful applicant may be eligible to receive a one-off recruitment payment of $20,000. (Conditions apply) An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement.
