About the Role This is a Full Time Ongoing Position With an area covering 20 municipalities across western Victoria, including the regional cities of Geelong, Ballarat, Warrnambool and Horsham, Avalon Airport and the ports of Geelong and Portland, significant tourist destinations such as the Great Ocean Road and Grampians (Gariwerd) National Park and significant freight corridors servicing Western Victoria and beyond, Barwon South-West Grampians Region has a diverse range of transport needs and challenges. As a Movement and Safety Engineer, your key priorities include: Developing solutions, recommendations and responses to road safety and traffic management issues and influencing transport project outcomes. Providing timely and sound technical advice to the community and a range of internal and external stakeholders Applying engineering and safe system competence to investigate road crashes in accordance with DTP’s policies and procedures in the fatal crash report system Assessing and implementing speed zoning and signing changes. Gains the respect of stakeholders and is regarded as a subject matter expert in the field.
