Key accountabilities of the Mechanical Interface Engineer: Pilot onboard signalling system and rolling stock mechanical interface derivation into installation specification. Coordiante and organise collaborative work between vehicle OEM supplier and Onboard System Specific Application engineers Design system and provide related documents. Investigate the Verification and Validation (V&V) test failures for corrective actions Perform quality inspections after installation, raised NCRs and drive design decision for the rectifications Manage the mechanical design work package and activities performed by local subcontractors and international design offices. Conduct technical reviews of onboard signalling systems on different rolling stock vehivle types, according with product requirements, Australian and International Standards, OEM inputs and client's requirements. Coordinate with electrical engineer and Project engineer to deliver the AOS installation design and adaptation layer for BHP fleet of Rail Monted Vehicles, including Locos, Hirails and Track maintenance Machines. Required experience: Bacholor in Science degree / international / multicultural background (desirable) Experience in integration of final product / quality inspections / site experience Mechanical design in railway products preferred Integration of rolling stock and onboard signalling components Excellent leadership and communication skills to effectively conduct design reviews with supplier, client and internal subject matter experts.
