Primary Location NSW - Chatswood Summary Service Stream's Utilities division are currently seeking a Project Control Engineer to join our growing company. You will be responsible for the management and development of Project Schedule, earned value management, daily tracker and performance measurement, field resources and subcontractors with a major focus on safety, quality, environment and customer satisfaction to ensure all work is performed in accordance with and legislative requirements. About the Role The Project Control Engineer drives high performance culture across Land Development and Engineering Business Units and is responsible for the management, planning, co-ordination and recruitment of all field resource requirements necessary to deliver the program of work safely, on time, on budget, to an agreed quality and to the satisfaction of stakeholders and customers. Nature of position: Full time Location: Sydney with regular travel to site (Mt Piper Power Station at this point) Reporting Line: Project Controls Manager Key Responsibilities Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and timelines using project management tools such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar software. Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to define project scope, goals, and deliverables. Ensure project plans consider all phases of the project lifecycle, from initiation to closeout. Identify potential risks and issues that may impact project timelines, costs, or quality. Regularly review and update risk registers and communicate risk status to project stakeholders. Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure project progress and performance. Monitor project milestones and deliverables, ensuring adherence to schedule and quality standards. Prepare and distribute regular progress reports, dashboards, and presentations to project stakeholders. Develops quantity release or installation curves for assigned disciplines or specialties. Reviews and evaluates quantity records to ensure total quantities are represented for a particular discipline or specialty. Develops required job hour expenditure for assigned disciplines or specialties. Assists in determining leveling decisions. Performs quantity and manpower resource loading for assigned schedules. Reviews schedule data and identifies and acquires information needed to complete work logics to interface between assigned disciplines or specialties. Determines critical-path activities for assigned discipline or specialties and identifies significant activities supporting inter-discipline requirements. Monitors schedule deviation for assigned disciplines or specialties and recommends corrective action/workaround solutions for project considerations. Identifies and reports activities that have a critical or potential impact on schedule via the Schedule Impact Report. Develops and monitors short term (2-4 week) engineering, procurement, construction schedules. Monitors schedule deviation for assigned disciplines or specialties including subcontractor submittals and recommends corrective action/workaround solutions for project considerations. Identifies and reports activities that have a critical or potential impact on the schedule and prepares and presents the Schedule Impact Report. Basic Qualification: Experience in Scheduling, performing, monitoring, and reviewing planning and scheduling functions, including schedule development, update, control, and analysis. Intermediate level of knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, and startup work processes. Proficiency in using scheduling software applications currently used by Service stream and Clients includes Primavera (P6) and Microsoft Project. Knowledge in the use Ms Office includes Excel, Word and Power Point Knowledge of current industry and technical developments. Skilled in oral and written communication. Strong communication, planning and organization skills. Professional knowledge of Earned Value Management, Performance measurement and daily trackers. Preferred Qualifications Prior experience in Power Plant Projects Knowledge of cost engineering functions, including cost estimating, cost control, and cost analysis Intermediate capabilities using Active Risk Manager (ARM) software, RISK, and Primavera Risk Analysis (PRA) and/or Acumen Risk Intermediate capabilities of developing Power BI Dashboards.
