Teacher Librarian - Liverpool Boys High School — The Rocks, Sydney

Position Information Liverpool Boys High School is a comprehensive boys school in the south west of Sydney. Our student enrolments of 530 reflect a culturally diverse school community with 88% of our students from a language background other than English, representing nearly 60 cultural groups. The school slogan is "We Choose our Success" drawing on the key principles of choice, personalisation and achievement. Our school is further enriched by an onsite Diverse Learning Unit with three autism classes. The school has a strong commitment from staff to a culture of innovation including our vertical senior school, Project Based Learning and the Big Picture Education Australia academy. The school has received significant equity funding for many years. The successful applicant will work in a dynamic shared Library space utilised by both Liverpool Boys and Liverpool Girls High Schools. Selection Criteria Approval to teach secondary library or currently undertaking or enrolled in Teacher Librarian qualifications approved by the NSW Department of Education. Highly developed communication, organisation and interpersonal skills with demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively with students, staff and the community to positively contribute to whole school culture across both LBHS and LGHS. Demonstrated creative, innovative and flexible approach to managing a library that functions as a learning hub across two schools. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity. Special Notes If applicable engagement will be temporary until successful completion of the Teacher Librarian qualifications as recognised by the NSW Department of Education which must be completed within 24 months.
