SQLServer Database Administrator - Contract — Tullamarine, Hume Area

Our client is seeking an experienced SQLServer Database Administrator (DBA) to join their team. The DBA will primarily be responsible for building upgrading and patching SQL server databases for applications. They will also be responsible for looking after performance, integrity, and security of our databases. Location: Western Suburbs Melbourne Duration: 6 months Contract This role is required to support application lifecycle management project to upgrade legacy SQL servers. Key responsibilities: The role's duties and accountabilities include, but are not limited to: Database Design and Implementation: Design, install, and maintain database systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability. Performance Tuning: Monitor database performance and implement changes to optimize efficiency. Security Management: Implement and manage security measures to protect data integrity and access. Backup and Recovery: Develop, implement, and regularly test backup and recovery plans. User Support: Provide support and training to users on database usage and management. Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve database-related issues promptly. Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, processes, and procedures. Upgrades and Patching: Apply necessary updates, patches, and upgrades to database systems. The successful candidate will have: Proficiency in SQL Server database administration. Strong knowledge of SQL and database query languages. Experience with database performance tuning and optimization. Familiarity with database security standards and practices.
