About the Role As an Aged Care Support Worker, you will provide personalised home care support to older Australians who reside around Cairns and suburbs located North of Cairns to assist them to remain living independently in their home. This is a permanent part time opportunity, these hours will be between 7am to 5pm Monday to Friday with no evening, weekend or sleepover shifts. Flexible hours available that can be between school hours or other commitments if required, offering an average of 20 hours a week. You will assist multiple clients throughout the day, some of the suburbs you may be rostered to support Cairns, Northern Suburbs, Kewarra Beach, Yorkeys Knob. You will be paid for your time spent travelling along with the kilometres travelled and be required to provide transport for clients, so a willingness to travel is essential for this role. Key Responsibilities Domestic assistance duties. This consists of light cleaning duties, changing of bed linen, washing/laundry In-home supports inclusive of meal preparation and assistance with daily living Personal care inclusive of showering, daily hygiene, monitoring of health and well-being (for example, identification of wound care needs, skin integrity, etc) Social supports inclusive of support to attend medical appointments, social activities in the local community, building/maintaining social networks Skills & Experience Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing, Disability or similar) is required Passionate about making a positive impact in our ageing community An Australian Driver’s Licence and ownership of a registered vehicle Strong communication skills with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships A current First Aid and CPR Certificate (must be obtained prior to employment) Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including but not limited to a National Criminal History Record Check.
