The Opportunity Corporate office based in Southbank, and project office in Bunyip, this role will support the commercial function of our Gippsland Line Upgrade - part of Victoria Big Build. 3-6 month contract initially, and there may be a possibility of extension, although there are no guarantees of this. Key responsibilities include. Assist in the effective and profitable management of all contract information; draw up all subcontract and supplier documentation of a project of high complexity, or several separate projects as directed. Maintain a thorough working knowledge of all project contract documentation including head contracts and subcontracts. In conjunction with the Project Manager and Commercial Manager, negotiate with the client and / or subcontractors to provide the best commercial outcome for the project. Conduct all assessments of Risk and Opportunity for project/s and report / act on any areas of exposure to margin, program or reputation. Undertake cost controlling, estimating, budgeting, forecasting, subcontract claim review and or commercial negotiation activities required and ensure budgetary targets are set and either met or exceeded. Ensure the project is delivered in accordance with the contract documentation and company standards and procedures. Assist the project team in the administration of contracts including procurement, budgets, progress claims, written documentation and disputes. Assess and manage variations through liaising with both internal and external stakeholders. Maintain written documentation of all discussions and agreements with all parties to ensure the provision of services is effectively managed for nil disputation. Play an integral role in compiling contractual claims (including time and/or cost). Develop client variations including quantities, rate build up (where contract rates are not available), subcontract/supplier quotations and compilation of supporting information to validate the variation claim (e.g. drawing revisions, instructions, etc). Accountable for progress claims, measurement of quantities, NOD & EOT submissions, retention/security release and certificates under the main contract being prepared in accordance with the contract requirements. Ensure that selected subcontractors comply with the Industrial Relations requirements for the project. Assist in the auditing of subcontractors for compliance. Requirements to be successful. Tertiary Qualifications in Commercial Management, Commercial Law, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or similar. A Senior Contracts Administrator with extensive Australian large infrastructure experience, rail experience beneficial This opportunity would suit a Senior Contracts Administrator who can travel across office and projects sites,and commit to a 3 -6 month assignment.
