Role Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Deputy Defence Program Director – Design and Delivery to oversee and manage complex projects as part of our high performing Defence sector. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate closely with key stakeholders to ensure successful project execution, adherence to standards, and achievement of strategic objectives. This role can be based in either Sydney or Canberra. Responsibilities include: All phases of the project lifecycle from initiation, execution and project closure Ensure procurement activities align with Commonwealth Procurement Rules. Foster positive stakeholder relationships through regular interactions. Manage project information in compliance with Defence and APP standards. Deliver projects within or under budget and reduce program durations. Prioritize and close out Handover Takeover (HOTO) promptly. Capture lessons learned and innovations for continuous improvement. About you: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business Administration, Engineering, Construction Management); postgraduate degree preferred. Proven experience in senior leadership roles overseeing complex programs or projects, preferably within the government or public sector. Demonstrated expertise in consultancy, program management, and project management methodologies (e.g., PMBOK, PRINCE2, Agile) with a successful track record of delivering large-scale initiatives on time and within budget. Strong understanding of government procurement processes, regulations, and compliance requirements. Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence diverse stakeholders at all levels.
