Trainee Motion Designer (12 Month Contract) — North Sydney, North Sydney Area

Company Description The design team is part of 9Creative, and specialises in the creation of Graphics and Special Effects for all promotional content for Nine and 9Now. Our large and dedicated team consists of 16 designers, all bringing their unique range of skills, experience and talent. This diversity of talent across all areas of motion design - including visual effects, after effects, 3D - lends itself to extensive collaboration. As a trainee motion designer, you will get hands-on experience in the design process. You'll work as part of the team with other designers, producers, promo editors, and directors. Your daily tasks will include: Following briefs to create motion design animations Using skills in Typography, 3D text, particle animations, roto, and more Collaborating with a creative design team and learning from experienced team members Keeping up to date with new tools and techniques This is a unique opportunity to step into a 12 month role with Australia's leading media company. Qualifications Above all you are a creative thinker, with the ability to come up with fresh, new ideas. What you will bring to the role: Some basic experience in Motion Design Ability to create simple mock-ups to show design ideas and concepts Basic project management skills, e.g. managing timelines and communicating with your team Knowledge of 3D design, animation, and typography Familiarity with Adobe After Effects and plugins like Particular, Sapphire, Red Giant, and Element 3D. Basic Photoshop skills. Willingness to learn and assist on large projects, and work with more experienced team members Relevant coursework or a Degree in Visual Art or Design, or equivalent.
