Provide strategic Legal advice on natural resources matters across NSW Flexible working location with hybrid working model Band 1 Senior Executive role | TRP commencing from $239,483 The Director Legal, Natural Resources Access Regulator (NRAR) leads and manages a legal team providing expert legal advice and strategic litigation services to NRAR in connection with a broad range of inhouse matters, with a focus on civil and criminal enforcement and compliance, administrative law, statutory interpretation, information sharing and law reform. The role provides strategic legal advice to NRAR in relation to the conduct of investigations and enforcement action, working in collaboration with NRAR’s Director of Investigations and Enforcement. Being a proactive Legal expert is critical to the successful operation of NRAR’s regulatory functions. About You To be successful in this position, you will be an experienced Legal practitioner with a proven track record in providing strategic legal advice on complex matters in the natural resources sector. You will be experienced in briefing senior executives on highly sensitive and challenging legal matters so exceptional communication and problem-solving skills are essential to your success in this role. This role also requires you to develop strong relationships with stakeholders across the water sector, and contributes, as a member of the senior management team, to the overall development and implementation of DCCEEW Governance and Legal’s strategy, culture, process and systems. You will be a strong people leader with a passion for empowering and developing staff to enhance the legal capabilities across your team. Essential Requirements Eligible to hold a current practicing certificate in NSW. Superior current knowledge of the regulatory environment and expertise in criminal and civil law including judicial review.
