Construction Administrator - Defect Management — Brisbane, Brisbane Region

About the role Due to continue growth we are seeking an experienced Construction Administrator to join our Customer Care Team to assist with defect management and rectification. In this role you will gain valuable exposure to scopes of works, building codes and contracts. We are seeking someone who is keen build on their existing construction knowledge while providing a high level of customer service to the greater team. This role will see you investigating issues, coordinating with the internal team, subcontractors, and suppliers to address these issues, and enhancing our customer service capabilities while fostering excellent client relationships. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to: Liaise with the team and sub-contractors to address and rectify defects Know how to put together and issue contract notices Recovery of funds from retentions where required Liaise with project staff for understanding of events, researching variations, site instruction and history on projects to ensure that the subbie rectifies defects Understanding of QBCC definitions of defects Needs to be able to influence outcomes and people, read situations and apply contract when necessary Minimise and mitigate cost to business through offsetting, contract charging and pursuing costs. About you: You will be commercially minded and have a good understanding of construction, with previous experience working for a builder or subcontractor Good understanding of contracts, scopes of works and how to apply them Ideally some understanding or exposure to construction contracts and building codes High level of detail and the ability to interpret contractual terms Strong communication and negotiation skills with the ability to develop and maintain strong relationships About McNab: McNab Group is one of Australia’s largest construction, development and property groups with additional group businesses in supply chain and hoist operations.
