Due to internal movement, we have a number of temporary vacancies available. As an Administrative Officer with Legal Aid Queensland you will perform a range of administrative duties to support vulnerable and disadvantaged Queenslanders secure grants of aid for legal representation. Grants Division The Grants Division (Brisbane and regional offices) administers funding for legal services in line with federal and state government funding priorities. The Division processes more than 44,000 new legal aid applications each year and manages ongoing files to finalisation. About the Role This is a great opportunity for an administrator to take on a position in a Division that helps vulnerable and disadvantaged Queenslanders secure grants of aid for legal representation. As an administration officer you will be responsible for a range of administrative functions across different grants activities. What you will do: Liaise with clients and solicitors about their request for review of a decision about an application for legal aid, or contribution towards the costs of an Independent Children's Lawyer. Provide administrative support to the external review, financial and compliance management functions of the division. Review court material and liaise with solicitors to assist with allocation of matters to Independent Children's Lawyers and Separate Representatives in accordance with Legal Aid Queensland policy and procedures. Data enter, validate, record and correct information held across a range of information technology systems. What you will bring to the role: strong attention to detail and demonstrated administrative experience following procedures from start to finish. ability to effectively communicate with clients who have complex needs experience using a range of information technology systems and can demonstrate the ability to learn new systems quickly. ability to adapt to changing priorities and confidence to work both independently and as part of a team.
