About the CommissionThe Queensland Law Reform Commission (QLRC) is an independent statutory body established under the Law Reform Commission Act 1968.The QLRC aims to meet the needs of the Queensland community by making practical, innovative and just law reform recommendations. These recommendations are based on extensive research and analysis, public consultation, and the values of transparency, rigour, impartiality, inclusivity and collaboration. QLRC reviews have included a range of technical legal, social justice and justice-related topics, including voluntary assisted dying, civil surveillance, privacy, termination of pregnancy, trusts law and guardianship laws. About the RoleTo thrive in this role, you will need:- Demonstrated experience in undertaking complex legal research, and analysing the legal and social issues involved in a law reform review- Demonstrated experience in developing effective solutions to complex legal and social problems- Demonstrated high level oral and written communication skills including the ability to conduct effective consultations on complex issues- Demonstrated ability to plan and undertake significant projects and work independently- Demonstrated experience in building productive working relationships. Mandatory qualifications and conditionsA degree in law from a recognised tertiary institution is required to perform this role.Higher studies in law, public administration or related areas would be well regarded.
