Position Information Elizabeth Macarthur High School is a partially selective high school in NarellanVale with 1389 students, including 67 Aboriginal students and 20% English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EAL/D) students. The school has a mission statement that is at the centre of all processes and practices, "Shaping the future by pursuing excellence and creating boundless opportunities”. The school has a learning platform that includes 4Matt, Gerric and Glasser and has strong curriculum links with its feeder primary schools. The school has a trade training centre as well as links with local universities and is involved with many community of schools partnerships with other high schools Selection Criteria Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria, · Demonstrated capacity to lead the development of innovative programs and assessment to support change in curriculum for a range of learners, in a partially selective high school. · Ability to create data driven practices to deliver improvement in HSC results for HPGE, learning support and EAL/D students. · Evidence of highly developed interpersonal skills which build positive relationships across the school community to build the capacity of a diverse staff. · Demonstrated capacity to be a dynamic member of the executive team to lead initiatives that address whole school strategic directions. General Selection Criteria 1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice 2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs 3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams 4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents 5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning 6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy Conditions An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement.
