What this opportunity involves: We are looking for a highly motivated and skilled Legal Support to join our team on an account with a well-esteemed organisation. As a Legal Support, you will play a critical role in supporting lease negotiations and cost reduction initiatives across our Client's property portfolio nationally. Your primary responsibility will be to coordinate the management of lease option and termination processes, as well as negotiation and execution of lease documents. This role is based in either Melbourne or Sydney CBD with hybrid and flexible working arrangements. An overview of the role: Collaborate with the Legal Lead and Transaction Management teams to manage lease option, termination, caveator, and non-standard consent processes. Review lease and property documents to determine exercise of option, termination, consent, and notice requirements. Prepare lease option notices, termination notices, caveator consent, and non-standard consent letters. Facilitate execution of documentation by the client. Monitor and ensure adherence to critical process dates. Instruct and liaise with external solicitors and surveyors to prepare necessary legal documentation and survey plans. Liaise with internal team members, lease administrators, and utility service managers to facilitate consent process requirements and ensure timely deactivation of utilities. Ensure compliance with client process workflows and escalate any risks to the Legal Lead and client. Maintain accurate tracking tools, files, and assist with monthly reporting. Before you apply it's also worth knowing what we are looking for: Legal or property qualifications and/or experience within a law firm, real estate, or 'landlord/tenant' organization. Demonstrated understanding and ability to interpret leases, contracts, and property related documents. Experience within the telecommunication industry and/or a high-volume real estate portfolio preferred. Strong leadership skills and ability to act as a role model for the team. Excellent planning and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work and meet tight deadlines. Proactive problem-solving and strategizing abilities. Ability to work independently and use initiative.
