Your key accountabilities The core capability requirements for this role are: Perform the duties of specialist legal practitioner for the Queensland Police Service. Provide written and verbal legal advice in relation to the investigation of major and organised criminal activity. Draft legal documents including warrants and affidavits. Represent the QPS in court proceedings including applications for covert warrants. Preparation and submission of legal administrative reports relating to covert warrants and checking and updating of warrant records. Liaise with relevant outside bodies including Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions and government agencies. Contribute to the development and delivery of legal training programs relevant to the investigation of major and organised criminal activity. Role Requirements Mandatory Possession of a degree in law from a recognised tertiary institution, or equivalent qualifications. Admission or eligibility for immediate admission as a barrister, solicitor or legal practitioner of the Supreme Court of Queensland and enrolment or eligibility for enrolment, to practice in the Federal and High Courts of Australia. Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance to the minimal level of Negative Vetting Level 1. Applications to remain current for 12 months.
