About the role: The Senior Social Worker is a senior clinical position that will provide targeted advice, consultation and support to the broader multidisciplinary team. You will support and foster the Social Work team within the community setting and will also undertake a pro-rata complex clinical caseload. You will be supported by the Greater Newcastle Mental Health Service Social Work Team Leader, the Management team and other senior clinical leaders with professional support provided by the Head of Social Work and Social Welfare. The service is committed to providing staff with opportunities for professional education and training. The successful candidate will be supported by the Greater Newcastle Mental Health Service Leadership team, Community Manager, Clinical Coordinator, Social Work Team Leader and Head of Discipline and Social Work Clinical Lead. Your development will be fostered within our new service orientation package. You will be supported to access regular and prioritised individual clinical supervision and monthly Social Work Practice Group. You will be empowered and supported to create personalised Professional Development Goals. About you: The successful candidate will possess significant Social Work clinical experience within the acute mental health environment as well as experience in the provision of professional supervision. The Candidate will also be required to maintain professional perspective and identity when prioritising workload and service provision. Requirements: Bachelor in Social Work or equivalent with eligibility for membership with Australian Association of Social Work (AASW).
