Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated DCS (Distributed Control System) Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of DCS systems to ensure efficient and reliable operation systems in the Gold Mining industry in Papua New Guinea. The role will require 4 x 4 week periods onsite in PNG, 2 weeks rest after each deployment and the rest of your time spent in the Brisbane office. Key Responsibilities: Design, configure, and implement DCS systems and related hardware/software. Develop and maintain control strategies, logic, and graphics. Perform system troubleshooting, diagnostics, and provide technical support. Conduct system testing, commissioning, and start-up activities. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations, maintenance, and project engineering. Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies. Optimize system performance and reliability through continuous improvement initiatives. Create and update documentation including functional specifications, operation manuals, and system procedures. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in DCS engineering, preferably in mining operations. Proficiency with DCS platforms such as ABB, Honeywell, Emerson, Siemens, or Yokogawa with ABB being the preference. Strong knowledge of process control principles, instrumentation, and automation. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. You must be a resident, permanent resident of Australia or NZ or have a valid full time work VISA for Australia Preferred Skills: Experience with PLCs, SCADA, and HMI systems.
