The Technology Infrastructure department is responsible to provide a strategic interface between the latest technology changes in workplace technology and the amazing people at Optus. It serves as a central point for the Chargeback Process, Budgeting and Forecasting, Reporting and Cost optimisation Practices for Cloud globally and has the ability to advise the business on decisions to ensure that the business is financially successful. Your day to day will consist of Supervise cloud spend day to day and prepare weekly and monthly reports. Collate, analyse, and prioritise cloud optimisation recommendations and calculate potential savings. Provide expert knowledge of cloud cost optimisation strategies (e.g. right sizing, power scheduling) Ensure optimisation recommendation go through the appropriate governance process and get actioned. Collaborate with engineering teams to implement cost optimisation recommendations and best methodology. Define and drive implementation of guardrails to optimise cost performance. Develop alerting when costs are higher than encouraged within a billing cycle. What makes you perfect for the role? Relevant professional qualifications in IT, Engineering, Computer Science, or Commerce, complimented by Certification in GCP or AWS and underpinned by extensive hands on experience in telco and IT. Knowledge and understanding of Public Cloud pricing schemes, and practical experience with SQL, Python, GCP and/or AWS and/or Azure. Experience with native and 3rd party Public Cloud cost management & advisory tools (Ternary, GCP Billing, GCP big query, big query, GCP Recommender, AWS Cost Explorer, AWS Trusted Advisor), plus ample use of data analysis and data visualisation tools (DataStudio, BigQuery, PowerBI, Tableau etc.) Capable to consolidate data and deliver aggregate view/ reports. High proficiency with MS Excel, PowerPoint and Power BI. Phenomenal communicator with effective ability to develop and maintain strong internal and client relationships.
