The position involves a commitment to offering students an excellent education through the implementation of the Science of Learning as expressed through the Catholic Education Canberra and Goulburn’s ‘Catalyst’ program. The successful candidate will join a strong and supportive team who are committed to the wellbeing and academic growth of all staff and students.  The successful candidate will demonstrate effective teaching skills and an excellent understanding of the curriculum and work to support the development of the RE Faculty at the College. Implement school processes to establish clear expectations for behaviour and create a safe, positive, orderly learning environment conducive to student engagement and achievement. Use a variety of formative and summative assessment strategies to accurately gauge student progress, adapt teaching practice to meet student needs and providing constructive feedback to support further learning. Commit to developing their understanding of Church teachings on contemporary issues with a commitment to ensuring these are presented respectfully through subject areas where appropriate. Work collaboratively with Faculty Leaders, House Leaders, colleagues, parents, and external agencies to enhance student learning outcomes and contribute to the broader school community. Engage in professional development activities to continually improve teaching practice, setting, and striving towards personal and professional goals and contributing to collective growth. Have an openness to be involved in co-curricular activities including camps, retreats, and extra-curriculum groups. Qualifications  Must hold a relevant Working with Children registration (WWVP) and Teaching Accreditation (TQI) Must have completed (or be enrolled in and completing) a relevant degree in Education/Teaching tertiary qualification. Must have completed an complete Accreditation D, according to the Accreditation to work, teach and lead in a Catholic School. To teach Religious Education in a Catholic school an employee must: Must be Catholic Have completed 6 undergraduate subjects or 4 postgraduate subjects Must have completed an Accreditation D – Teach Religious Education in a Catholic school Selection Criteria  A commitment to Catholic education and the respectful promotion of the mission of the Catholic Church to students and the community. Demonstrated high-level teaching skills and the passion and expertise to work individually and collectively to maximise learning outcomes for all students, including those with additional learning needs.
