You will be assisting the Housekeeping Leaders to coordinate the housekeeping and laundry operations to ensure guest rooms and hotel spaces are cleaned to the highest standard in line with our IHG Clean Promise. Cleanliness is top of mind in the current climate of our industry, and your department plays a vital role in providing peace of mind to our guests. You will support the daily housekeeping operations of room allocations, inspections and laundry operations. Your team will share your meticulous eye for detail in ensuring our spaces are perfect every time ensuring a memorable stay for our guests. You will ensure the workplace health and safety best practices are actively engaged, support the management of supplier relationships, and liaise with other hotel departments to ensure an efficient and smooth operation all being part of your day to day. In this role you will be instrumental in the recruitment and training of your diverse and engaged team members. The successful Housekeeping Team Leader will be hands-on, someone who isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves and get involved to support colleagues to establish a strong level of success within their team. Your day to day Coordinate the implementation of housekeeping standards and procedures in relation to; room servicing, room cleanliness, public areas cleanliness, laundry services and detail cleaning. Perform room inspections, ensuring all standards are being met and there is consistency between rooms Liaise with front office and all other departments for guest and hotel requirements such as early arrivals Attend to all guests queries and requests promptly managing any special requests made by guests Ensure consistency within the department • Management for lost property of the hotel Knowledge of the room types, layouts and facilities Works with Housekeeping Manager to ensure the department performance of staff is productive. Including the organization and support of new staff training, conducting on the job training and performance discussions in line with the company's guidelines Inspect all assigned rooms and public areas to ensure furnishings, guest rooms, equipment, linens and public areas are clean and in good repair to meet guest satisfaction. Maintains exemplary department standards of behaviour and appearances and attitude as expected in an IHG brand. Demonstrates awareness of OHS policies and procedures and ensure all work practices are carried out safely within OHS guidelines Demonstrate commitment to guest security and privacy according to IHG guidelines Be familiar with property safety, first aid and fire and emergency procedures and operate equipment safely and sensibly Log security incidents and accidents in accordance with hotel requiremen What We need from you: A general passion for making people happy (you want to make a difference in someone's day). A hands-on leader who isn't afraid to lead by example. Excellent time management skills, delegation, a drive fort results A seasoned Housekeeping professional with experience in a similar hotel environment, alongside a passion for engaging, empowering, developing and motivating the team to succeed on every shift. A strong focus & experience with skills training & total quality management. A proven approach to problem solving. It's a physical role and you'll be on your feet most of the day, so fitness is important. Strength - with occasional lifting of items up to 23 kilograms and or push/pulling heavy objects. Good verbal and written communication skills and the ability to engage well with both the team and guests. Strong attention to detail. Opera experience is preferred. Candidates must: have current working rights for Australia ability to work shift work, including weekends, evenings and public holidays.
