Apply Now DONT MISS OUT Position: Part-Time Science Laboratory Technician Location: Plenty Campus, Doreen Contract: Fixed-Term 12-Month Contract Hours: Thursday and Friday, 8.30am – 4.30pm (Term Time Only) Responsibilities: Working closely with the Administration Manager and the Curriculum Leader - Science, your key responsibilities will include: Lab Management: Ensure all laboratory activities are well-organized and supported. Specimen Care: Collect, maintain, and care for flora, fauna, and all living specimens, adhering to regulations on handling and cruelty prevention. Preparation: Prepare apparatus and chemicals for practical work and demonstrations. Stock Monitoring: Keep track of stock and order materials, ensuring timely preparation and submission of requisition orders. Hygiene and Safety: Maintain clean, hygienic, safe, and secure laboratories and preparation areas. Compliance: Maintain Hazardous Substance Risk Assessment forms and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for chemicals in compliance with regulations. About You: Child Safety: Sound knowledge of child safety protocols and compliance requirements. Teamwork: Ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve goals and meet deadlines. Qualifications: Diploma of Applied Science, Certificate IV Laboratory Technician, or equivalent qualifications. Desirable Skills: Chemical Safety qualification and experience with PASCO Data logging would be highly regarded. Collaboration: Strong capacity to consult, collaborate, and interact with staff, students, and parents/guardians. Innovation: Ability to test new practical's for staff and students.
