Using remotely operated, novel underground mining (UGM) technology to extract key critical minerals. The technology we have developed enables access to ore bodies previously thought to be uneconomic - in future, we hope it brings potential to unlock other deep deposits of critical minerals, including those nearby to the Balranald project. About the Location Iluka's Balranald operation is located approximately two hours by road from Mildura in regional NSW. You can choose to live in the local region, drive-in drive-out from towns outside the regional area or fly-in, fly-out from Melbourne or Adelaide. About the Role Reporting to the Senior Mining Engineer and Technical Services Manager the Mining Engineer will provide technical expertise on practical mining solutions to ensure the ongoing efficient delivery of the West Balranald mining operation objectives. This position is responsible for communicating, maintaining and integrating the consolidated mining extraction, backfill, tailings and rehabilitation plan for the mine site. Key responsibilities include input into daily production and development activities to ensure management of the short and medium term mine plan. Daily and Weekly data recording and entry to provide information and direction on mine plans, backfill progress and tailings planning, rehabilitation and material movements. Your accountabilities will include: Provide short and medium term production planning expertise for the mine Provide mining development, extraction and pad design for the mining unit Develop plans for topsoil and overburden stripping, tailings injection and management and rehabilitation Conduct reconciliations and close out plans for completed areas Deliver monthly, quarterly and yearly reports Effectively communicate mine plans to internal stakeholders and contractors Manage attainment to rolling schedule to ensure budget outcomes are achieved Deliver monthly, quarterly and annual budget reports detailing actual vs. budget/forecast About You Tertiary degree in mining, oil & gas or construction related discipline Strong short and medium term production planning, execution and rehabilitation knowledge Experience with Deswik mine planning software or similar Self-motivated and high level of attention to detail Our Offer to You Family friendly 8:6 roster - DIDO from towns outside the regional area or FIFO from Melbourne or Adelaide New camp facilities Be supported through an inclusive and collaborative culture Up to 18 Weeks Paid Parental Leave Ability to Purchase Additional Annual Leave Competitive Salary and Bonus Structures Company share matching scheme We are committed to upholding our Business Values, supporting equal opportunities, gender equality and cultural diversity.
