An international trading company has created a role to design and develop tools to help set up, maintain & support its APAC infrastructure operations. How would you feel about being the go-to person for solving problems that support one of the worlds leading financial trading houses? A newly created role for market leading trading company has been created to support trading across the APAC region. You will use your experience and expertise to become a subject matter expert on all things networking, apps support, Multicast for the APAC region of this international business. The team of 10 supports around 40 different sites that are headquartered from their Sydney office. Due to increased demand on large scale projects, expansion across the APAC region and the ongoing day to day of processing millions of trades this role has been created. Your in-depth knowledge across Linux operating systems will go hand in hand with your ability to provide expert advice on how to resolve problems during go time issues and crisis (they don’t happen often, but when they do this will be your time to shine). You’ll join a team that is all based here in Sydney but also further supported by teams in the US and other regions. It is essential that you have had experience in a similar trading environment or exposure to an environment with multicasting at a high level. To be successful in this role, you will have had experience throughout your career in application support, system administration, Linux environment(s), and as an network/infrastructure engineer. At some point you may have done front office application support, system administration & engineering, networking & infrastructure engineering. As the SME you’ll wear many hats and be required to do all of these responsibilities throughout your tenure here. It’s a mix of networking, deployment, building pipelines, automation and solving problems, in summary: Infrastructure engineering System Administration Applications Support This is an opportunity to really flex your networking and infrastructure muscles and apply your knowledge to help build, maintain and save this complex business. You will be maintaining and monitoring market data infrastructure platforms, use that inquisitive mind of yours to prevent issues and gain an understanding of various data products across the organisation to help diagnose problems. Summary of the tech skills needed: Strong understanding of Linux operating systems . Experience with Multicast. High level of experience with networking, switches, routers. Experience deploying hardware and software. Scripting experience across Python/Bash. Ability to communicate very well with high attention to detail. Knowledge of TCP/UDP Protocols and Layer 1 networking is highly beneficial. React well under pressure dealing with outages etc. How you will be compensated You’ll get to work in an environment like no other.
