About the opportunity: We are seeking a Teacher Assistant who is an enthusiastic, talented professional able provide direct support to individuals as well as small groups of students with additional needs. The role of the Teacher Assistant is to work with students to facilitate and support their successful inclusion across all aspects of College life.  The  role  is a temporary full-time position with an immediate start. You will work alongside a dynamic and supportive diversity team committed to achieving positive learning outcomes for each student. More specifically you will: Be familiar working with students with diverse learning needs as outlined by the Disability Act, and follow the policies and procedures as outlined by Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese (CSPD) Demonstrate a commitment to the mission of Catholic Education  Assist students to access learning spaces and the opportunities to engage in activities across the College. Maintain adjustments as detailed in the student’s Personalised Learning Plan. Build rapport with students and their parents/carers so as to better understand the implications of individual student needs within the college environment. Assist with providing the students with opportunities to develop personal, social and independent learning skills Support students as they transition into varying learning contexts including, inquiry learning spaces within the school, ensuring that appropriate learning adjustments are embedded Assist students to access on site and off-site activities including excursions and school camps Be willing to undertake ongoing professional learning and training in support of a student’s personalised plan. Capacity to implement positive behaviour supports and adjustments in line with CSPD Wellbeing Framework.   Qualifications and accreditations: Current Working with Children Check clearance. Eligibility according to the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) Experience in Learning Support will be a distinct advantage.
