About the branch The Workplace Relations and Occupational Safety (WROS) Branch enjoys an extraordinary diversity of exciting and challenging matters. The work can range from providing advice and conducting litigation in relation to all aspects of Victorian Public Sector occupational health and safety matters, employment, industrial relations, and discrimination law. It is a small close knit team that enjoy working collaboratively together. About the role An exciting opportunity exists for an eager and dedicated Legal Assistant to join our Workplace Relations and Occupational Safety Branch. This role will provide comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to a team of solicitors. This role would ideally be suited to someone looking to build on their existing legal secretary experience and create a career in this field. Day to day responsibilities include: Preparing, formatting and reviewing legal documentation, including correspondence and court documents Liaising with barristers clerks and preparing briefs for counsel including collation of e-briefs Filing and service of court documents via online platforms Autonomous file management - conduct of matter related tasks, monthly billing and maintaining efficient and effective electronic files Calendar and mailbox management General administration duties This role will provide you with the opportunity to take ownership and build a long-term career with great development and progression opportunities.
