Independent Public School - North Metropolitan Education Region Dayton Primary School Teacher - K-6 Pool Ref IPS/TCH900833 Teacher, $78,397 - $113,568 per annum (pro-rata) (SEA GA 2021) Advertised Vacancy Number: IPS/TCH900833 Appointment Pool Dayton Primary School's (PS) leadership team is seeking to establish a pool of Teachers - Kindergarten to Year 6 for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2024 school year and up to the end of Term 3, 2025. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2024 school year, up to the end of Term 3, 2025. The Senior Leadership Team is seeking passionate and committed primary teachers to join their team. To build a connected community, teachers will ideally prioritise connection and communication with families as partners in their child's learning. Classrooms at Dayton should be appealing and welcoming, promoting a positive classroom tone. Clear routines and structures should be established, ensuring every student knows what is expected of them. Regular assessment and evaluation, through checking for understanding and quality feedback, will ensure data-informed decisions are made to progress student learning via authentic and rich learning tasks which allow students to deepen their understanding of mastered skills. While literacy and numeracy will be priority areas, science, technology, physical education, arts and humanities will be interwoven to ensure students receive a holistic, well-balanced education. Along with high impact teaching strategies, the Science of Reading will shape literacy instruction. To support learning, daily reviews built around concepts of the Cognitive Load Theory will be utilised. An inquiry approach will be matched with explicit instruction of core knowledge and skills in HASS, Health and Science learning areas to ensure higher order thinking skills and metacognition are promoted. Digital technologies and STEM learning will be embedded within key learning areas to promote learning, rather than being an 'add-on'. Differentiation and enrichment will ensure every child has access to work at their level and the best opportunities to be successful. All teachers at Dayton are involved in coaching pertaining to the school's articulated instructional framework and applicants are encouraged to attend Dayton's advertised prospective staff information session prior to applying. Vacancies may arise during the life of this pool that require specialist qualifications (for example vacancies within Early Childhood Education). Only applicants, in the pool, possessing the required qualifications will be considered for appointment in these circumstances.
