Reporting directly to the Partner the position will see you taking on complex and engaging coverage and defence work.About the RoleExciting opportunity to work with leading insurers, large engineering consultancies and construction contractors and a wide range of other insureds in the construction, engineering, and property sectorsResponsibilities Primary responsibility for the day-to-day conduct of commercial litigation matters under supportive supervision, including drafting correspondence, pleadings, submissions, affidavits and other court documentsAppearing at settlement conferences, tribunal, and court hearingsDrafting detailed and comprehensive advice to clientsManaging and building external client relationships and assisting with business development activitiesMaintaining client portalsCollaborating with senior practitioners and other team membersCoaching and mentoring junior lawyersSupporting graduates and seasonal clerks throughout their rotationsAbout You You hold a current practicing certificate for New South WalesYou bring 3 plus years PAE solid experience working principally in construction, engineering, and property insuranceWhilst not essential, experience acting in subrogated recovery actions is also welcome.You are self-driven, have excellent verbal and written communication, and time management skillsYou can manage competing priorities effectivelyYou can demonstrate the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships, particular the ability to earn the confidence and trust of key stakeholdersYou pride yourself on being a team player who is professional, client focused and supportive of your colleagues CulturePeople choose Landers for our down-to-earth, collaborative, and supportive culture.
