Disability Support Worker - Permanent shifts - Lifestyle Choices South — Hobart, Hobart Region

Due to exciting growth at Able Australia, we have new opportunities at our Day Services programs located in Moonah . Able Australia provides day programs throughout the week that are focused around individual and group activities that encourage participation and choice and have a key focus on person-centred support. In this role we provide social interaction, safety, personal care and overall enjoyment. We promote independence and seek to support our clients to develop a variety of social and life skills. We encourage our clients that have a range of disabilities to engage within their community to develop skills, independence and friendships based on their hobbies, interests and goals set within their NDIS support plans. We are looking for applicants who enjoy getting involved in activities like swimming and outdoor games and will have an innovative approach to working with our clients to ensure that they have an enjoyable experience with us every day. There will be some personal care involved, and the possibility of travel to different locations for activities. Experience with complex support needs would be advantageous. This role can be incredibly rewarding as you enrich the lives of others, improving their engagement with the community, and be an integral part of their journey towards 'Better Days, Every Day'. Skills and experience required to be successful in this role: Essential: Experience working in the Disability sector preferably in a Day Services setting Intermediate computer skills (ie: using Microsoft Outlook, documentation in a client management tool/CRM, Carelink ) Experience providing personal care to people with disabilities Flexibility in your availability. Shifts will be between 9.00am - 3:00pm during the week, with the possibility of weekend or afternoon shifts Right to work in Australia Working with Vulnerable People check with NDIS endorsement / willingness to obtain Valid / current First Aid & CPR / willingness to obtain Highly regarded and desirable: Medication Training Competence in providing Active support to client A relevant qualification in Disability, Aged Care, Individual Support, Allied Health, Mental Health or working towards it.
