Bayer Crop Science has a chemical manufacturing plant at Pinkenba, Brisbane. We are looking for an experienced and hands on Plant Electrician to join the onsite maintenance team. As a Plant Electrician, you will ensure all electrical and control production machinery, equipment, instruments and components are maintained to the required standards. You will be a key contributor to ensure the production machinery has optimum reliability and operational performance to deliver planned production plans and product out. This role will require you to work Monday to Friday and be based at the plant at Pinkenba, Brisbane. Working hours will generally be day shifts, but we ask for flexibility in start times during peak production months, when we run a second shift in the afternoon. Do something that moves you. Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance and repairs on a wide range of sensors, electrical actuators, remote IOs, switchboards, junction boxes and other control system components Perform unscheduled work where equipment and technical faults occur, troubleshooting malfunction, mitigating potential risks whilst minimizing interruptions to production Complete all electrical statutory testing and compliance checks Perform loop testing, testing and tagging and creating/updating cause & effect matrices to Australian Standards Troubleshooting malfunctions on electrical circuits, following circuit diagrams, operation manuals, manufacturer instructions and engineering specifications Apply a continuous improvement mindset to systems, processes or equipment to drive efficiency, improve reliability, and value delivery while minimizing waste, variation and defects Electrical install of machinery, equipment and instrumentation to applicable standards Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including equipment maintenance logs, repair histories, and spare parts inventory Collaborate with the maintenance team and engineering team to develop and execute plans, schedules and procedures Does this sound like you? You must hold a currently Queensland Non-restricted Electrical License with hands on experience working on plant equipment. Comprehensive knowledge of electrical standards and the ability to interpret electrical schematic/control wiring diagrams PLC knowledge and experience (DCS, SCADA, PCS7) Experience working with and testing sensors, electrical actuators, remote IOs, switch boards, junction boxes and other control system components Experience with VSD/VFD installation and maintenance Ability to read and understand technical drawings Sound understanding of reliability and preventative maintenance principles Extensive experience in ERP platforms Ability to work independently and cooperatively within a team environment Clear communication skills A strong commitment to safety In return, you will be rewarded with a competitive pay, 12 % superannuation, access to 5 additional leave days known as ME days and work life balance, working with a supportive and stable employer who wants to see you grow and expand your career.
