You’re a safety advisor who has been around the block and now wants more of a challenge. Being a 2iC to the safety manager is what you’ve been craving. You’ll be able to make some positive changes in how things are done and learn skills so that you can be a manager one day. This isn’t a role where you are always stuck out on site. With a 60/40 split (site to office) you’d help improve the IMS system, look to update old documentation and mentor site teams and one of the juniors in the safety team. They’ve just passed their ISO audit but have 14 amendments for their OFSC so there is work to be done and improvements that need to be made. Your manager has been there a year and is very driven and motivated to make the company a safe environment for everyone. She has so much energy and passion but she needs that extra experience in the team, an approachable, analytical and knowledgeable safety advisor is on her wish list. That could be you. Salary starts in the $170-$200k package range etag and a bonus EVERY Christmas. Their staff stick around as they are happy, get put on training courses and they have excellent facilities in the office and out on site. (staff retention was at 91% last year). Subbies are paid on time (They pay my invoices in a week) and projects are well resourced. They are the ‘go to’ experts in the industrial sector so you’ll spend time out on greenfield sites in the Western Suburbs and from their office in Lane Cove. Sounds good What do you expect from me? To be in with a shout of this role you just need to tick the following 5 points Experience of site investigations and high-risk activities (particularly, working at heights, heavy plant and airborne contaminates 8 years experience on construction projects in tier 1 or 2 companies in Australia At least a cert IV in WHS. If you have a diploma or auditing qualifications then extra bonus points for you Very good with computers (they use mac’s) and working out where improvements can be made Very proactive person who uses your initiative.
