Ventilation Engineer — Perth, Perth Region

International Talent Specialists International Talent Specialists are seeking a skilled Ventilation Engineer. This is a permanent full-time position requiring a minimum of 38 hours per week. Our client has projects ongoing across Golden Grove Mine, Western Australia and Capricorn Copper Mine, Queensland. This is a great opportunity to join a friendly and experienced team. Reporting to the Senior Ventilation Engineer, the purpose of this role is to monitor the underground environment to ensure that workings are being adequately ventilated in accordance with the Mines Safety and Inspection Regulations. Benefits Permanent Salary: $100,00 - $120,000 Task & Responsibilities Proactively promote safety standards, processes and procedures and ensure regulatory compliance and adherence by all employees, including contractors, at all times through safety audits, field task observations, and workplace inspections and implementing corrective actions where required to the Ventilation Management Plan. Establish and maintain a calibrated ventilation model for the underground mines that provide the basis for planning the Life of Mine (LOM) ventilation. With the assistance of consulting engineers, establish LOM ventilation plans and models based on the annual LOM Plan. Oversee the activities of Ventilation Technicians and Graduate Mining Engineers in the day-to-day monitoring of the mine ventilation in work areas to ensure accurate readings are taken and records are maintained. Establish procedures and standards for the management of gas monitoring equipment in calibrated and fit-for-purpose functionality in accordance with the UG Gas Management Plan and the maintenance of records for this function. Track and provide input into the issuing of defect notices in relation to contractor installed work that results in sub-standard ventilation in the mine. Authorise day work instructions and any work outside normal contractor scope for approval by the Underground Manager to improve the ventilation as required. Scrutinise mine planning and scheduling plans from an operational perspective, ensuring the plans are practical to ventilate for the planned operations. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and statutory requirements in order to mitigate the Company's risk and liabilities. Contribute to the knowledge database of operational information to ensure that required changes and improvements are recorded. Qualification & Experience 2 years demonstrated experience in a similar role; Dangerous Goods Security Clearance; Obtain a clear National Police Clearance; Proficient in MS Office software; and Ability to interact well in a team, and adherence to following procedures.
