Lead and manage Design projects for insurance-related commercial construction, ensuring quality and compliance from concept to completion. Position Overview: Are you a seasoned Design Manager with a knack for managing commercial insurance-related construction projects? Do you have a background in architecture and a passion for overseeing design activities from inception to completion? Join our team as the Insurance Design Manager, where your expertise will drive the successful delivery of various insurance projects, from roof replacements to complete building reconstructions ($1M - $10M in value). About the Role: Based in Melbourne and covering VIC, Tasmania, NSW, and ACT, this dynamic position involves both site and office-based work. You will be responsible for managing and coordinating all design aspects of insurance projects, ensuring high-quality deliverables and regulatory compliance at every stage. Some (limited) travel within the region, including to regional and rural Victoria, will be required. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage all design activities for insurance/commercial projects from tendering to construction completion. Ensure design strategies align with project goals, client requirements, and industry standards. Coordinate internal resources and external consultants to provide necessary expertise throughout the project lifecycle. Collaborate with architects, engineers, and consultants to deliver high-quality outputs. Serve as the primary contact for all pre-construction design activities, maintaining effective communication with Building Owners, Body Corporates, Building Managers, Insurers, Insurance Brokers, Loss Adjustors, and Quantity Surveyors. Engage in all project stages, ensuring design deliverables meet project timelines and objectives. Provide leadership during the construction phase to ensure the faithful execution of approved designs. Implement and uphold quality control measures to ensure high standards in design deliverables and regulatory compliance. Qualifications and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a related field. Proven experience in managing design processes for construction projects. Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage multidisciplinary teams. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder engagement. Familiarity with industry regulations and best practices in insurance project design, especially in VIC. Comprehensive on-site experience with construction methods and detailing. Based in Melbourne, willing to travel within VIC, Tasmania, NSW, and ACT. Flexible with juggling multiple competing project tasks as priorities change and you will be responsible for up to 6 projects at any one time.
