The Officer, Fees, Scholarships and Financial Assistance provides administrative support to the Fees, Scholarships and Financial Assistance team. The role is responsible for the administration of fees assessments, HELP scheme, remissions of debt in special circumstances, scholarships, student payments, student loans, grants and resolves and responds promptly to student enquiries in line with Government and University pricing strategy. The Officer, Fees, Scholarships and Financial Assistance also monitors and updates the fees, Scholarships and Financial Assistance website, and attend Deakin University events, such as Open Days. This is a 12-month fixed term opportunity, working predominantly in Scholarships. The role encompasses the complete scholarship cycle, from assessing scholarship applications, making scholarship offers and processing scholarship payments. As an Officer, Fees, Scholarships and Financial Assistance, you will: Coordinate, support and provide advice in relation to fees, Scholarships and available financial assistance options. Maintain broad and up-to-date knowledge of all Government, community and University programs, HELP programs, other programs and services which can assist students. Provide advice on the administration and use of university services and functions and make appropriate referrals to other areas of the University as appropriate Review and update student information and financial transactions ensuring adherence to University policies and operating procedures Provide a range of processing and administrative tasks in line with university procedure such as responding to student and staff requests, or complaints, ensuring client needs are met within agreed standards and timelines. To be successful, you’ll have: Completion of a Degree without subsequent relevant work experience; or Completion of an Associate Diploma and at least two years subsequent relevant work experience; or An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training Experience in administration and related activities in a large organisation with complex administrative structures, policies, and procedures.
