About the role The General Field Engineer is a professional who works in the oil and gas or mining industry, primarily involved with well/borehole logging, a key technique used in the exploration and production of hydrocarbons or minerals. Working Mondays - Fridays at our Welshpool Office in Perth, this role entails the use of wireline tools to obtain subsurface geological data, which helps in making decisions about drilling, production, reservoir/well management, orebody mapping, resource estimation, extraction, and cost control. The General Field Engineer will act as the primary customer focal point to ensure successful and efficient service delivery, maintaining high standards of data quality and customer satisfaction. This role encompasses the preparation, calibration, and operational deployment of the geophysics' products and ancillary equipment, as well as providing training and support to clients. The role includes 50-75% site travel. What you will be doing Prepare geophysics' products and related equipment for field deployment; Perform regular calibration of equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability; Conduct pre-deployment checks to ensure all equipment is in optimal working condition; Execute operational checks prior to and during deployment to ensure equipment functionality; Operate the geophysics' products during field assignments, ensuring accurate data collection; Monitor equipment performance and make necessary adjustments during operations; Provide hands-on training to client field staff on the operation and maintenance of the BMR tool; Conduct basic QA/QC checks on collected data to ensure accuracy and integrity; Act as the primary point of contact for clients during field operations; Contribute to the continuous improvement of operational processes and procedures; Promote and maintain a strong focus on safety, health, environmental, and security standards. What you will bring Experienced with wireline tools and equipment are properly maintained, calibrated, and functioning correctly. This includes troubleshooting and repairing equipment as needed; 3 years in wireline operations, with the ability to prioritize tasks, allocate resources effectively, and manage multiple priorities simultaneously; Experienced user of a multitude of wireline tools particularly NMR, Optical and Acoustic televiewer; Career progression with experience in either on or offshore wireline services; Exposure to different continents, countries and cultures.
