About the role We are excited to announce that we are on the lookout for a Senior Electronics Engineer to join our growing team. Join our team at Orica Digital Solutions' Orebody Intelligence Division and be a part of pioneering the future of mining while we develop the next generation of geophysics tools. As a Senior Electronics Engineer, you'll have the opportunity to work on the cutting-edge of technology, crafting and refining electronic systems that are at the heart of our groundbreaking measurement equipment, pushing the boundaries of what's possible in precision and performance. In the Orica Digital Solutions Orebody Intelligence Division, we design and commercialise innovative measurement technology that is reshaping mining. The Senior Electronics Engineer will be involved in designing, prototyping, testing, and manufacturing geophysical instrumentation and carrier systems. You will be responsible for the development of precision electronic circuitry and assemblies that controls and operates industry changing technology. This is a full-time position, working Mondays to Fridays at our Welshpool Office, the role will be responsible for the development, design, layout of critical electronics. A good understanding of other engineering and science disciplines is a plus to this role. What you will be doing Designing of novel geophysical logging instrumentation and carrier platforms; Contribute in the development of downhole geophysical tools. Managing the full lifecycle of all designs, including feasibility studies, concept designs, prototyping, testing, manufacturing, and support; Research into new sensor, packaging, material, and design technologies; Providing technical expertise to team members across a range of projects; Inspection and testing of electronic components and assemblies to ensure they meet design specifications; Carry out assembly and repairs of prototypes and early release equipment as required; Provide design, manufacturing, and maintenance documentation; Participation in field trials and provision of technical support for new products; Write and deploy necessary work instructions and procedures. What you will bring Degree qualified with a minimum 5 years' experience; Bachelor of Science/Engineering in relevant field - electronics; Expertise in analogue and digital circuit design, CAD and a range of simulation software; Experience with fast ADC, MCA and general digital signal processing; Experience with controllers and firmware design; Be physically fit and healthy as the job requires. It would be beneficial to have: Previous geo-resource experience; Experience designing, manufacturing, and assembling precision electronics; A solid understanding of sensor physics; An understanding of designing for remote environments.
